The context of this scripture is that David just returned from a battle that he just won and the Lord had given Him the victory and facing right away another obstacle and he didn’t even got a chance to rest but David in his humility even though the situation was unffair he prayed to God and asked for His permission to recover his own things and the Lord said it was ok for him to and without fail he would recover all.
